Attorney Joshua Irvine of Irvine Legal, LLC will present to us on Immigration.

Immigration is a complex, moving target that can frustrate business expansion, prompt uncertainty in seasoned HR professionals and expose companies to unexpected challenges.  The focus of this presentation is to explore some of the unique aspects of immigration affecting company culture, potential business deals, ongoing HR compliance and business costs.  Specifically, we will address ways to:

    • Identify types of positions for which immigration may be a viable recruiting option

    • Plan for strategic global company expansion through immigration

    • Protect your company from liability issues related to non-compliance with immigration rules.

The goal of this presentation is to increase the HR professional’s global and cultural effectiveness, business acumen, and overall human resource expertise.

Please RSVP by the Friday prior.

    Bio:

After graduating from law school at the University of Utah, Joshua went to work for a traditional law firm but quickly decided to start his own company when he saw how many other attorneys were unhappy with their work and their life.

Irvine Legal, LLC is built on the belief that the traditional methods most law firms use to bill clients lead to redundancy, bureaucracy and an unnecessary reliance on what Joshua calls “manufactured work.”  His love of cultures, traditions and travel have added not only to his appreciation for them, but to his ability to bring a new approach to solving problems faced by many businesses and entrepreneurs. Having been raised in Germany, England, and the United States, he has learned a great deal about people by living in different cultures.

He speaks throughout the United States and internationally on a variety of international business and business immigration topics.  He has been a keynote speaker, a training session leader and provided in-house training to specialized industries.

Joshua was an Adjunct Professor at LDS Business College in Salt Lake City, Utah from 2014-2016 where he taught paralegal classes, and is currently an Adjunct Professor at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah, where he has been teaching entrepreneur finance since 2016.
